The Degen Score
The Degen Score is not a complex financial analysis. It's a simple, instant "smell test."
It's designed to answer one basic question: "Did the development team put in the absolute minimum effort, or are there immediate red flags?"
How It's Calculated
The score is out of 10 and is based on a few simple, publicly verifiable data points.
+5 Points: Immutable / Renounced Contract
This is the biggest factor. If the contract is renounced, the creators cannot change the rules later. This is a massive trust signal. If it's mutable, they can potentially change transaction taxes or other token features.
+3 Points: A Live Website
Does the project have a dedicated website? This shows a basic level of commitment and effort beyond a simple social media page.
+2 Points: A Twitter/X Account
Is there an official social media presence for announcements and community engagement?
What the Degen Score IS NOT
This is critical:
It is NOT a predictor of price. A 10/10 token can go to zero.
It is NOT a guarantee against getting rugged.
It is NOT an analysis of the team's quality, the tokenomics, or the usefulness of the project.
Think of it this way: A low score (0-4) is a massive red flag and a sign of extreme laziness or malicious intent. A high score (8-10) simply means the project has its basic house in order.
